Network Support

APRO provides network support for numerous small networks consisting of 10 to 100 users. We capture data, monitor logs and generally ensure that the networks are running properly and are secured. We investigate any attempted security breaches as they occur. We are under contract with Banks, Health Care Facilities, Education and more.

We can perform the complete scope of work form Project conception to go-live.

Employee past experience - Site lead for network design, installation and maintenance at the USACE District and Mississippi Valley Division 1990-2001. In 1990, there were several isolated Novell networks and no WAN connectivity. Provided X.25 network connecting the New Orleans, Memphis and St. Louis Districts to mainframes located in , MS.

Employee past experience - Provided local area network connectivity to connect all LANs in USACE District headquarters. In 1991, provided X.25 connectivity to 12 District field offices locate in Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana.

Employee past experience - Provided WAN connectivity to District field offices using IP/IPX routing to replace X.25 system.

Employee past experience - Upgraded District headquarters LAN to 100 Mbit core. Researched data and voice connectivity solutions for the Memphis District’s floating plant. These vessels provide dredging and revetment services for the Mississippi River between Cairo, IL and the Gulf of Mexico. There are approximately 700 employees on the vessels during construction season and constant connectivity is required. Final solution was Very Small Aperture Satellite (VSAT) with downlink in and 4 remote VSAT terminals on vessels. Each vessel has a stabilized platform which acquires and tracks the satellite while the vessel is moving. Provided 24 telephone voice channels and 384 Kbit frame relay service from 1995 to present.

Employee past experience - Primary architect of cable plant for new District headquarters building, consisting of ~2800 data/telephone jacks distributed among 9 wiring closets.

Employee past experience - Site lead to coordinate moving servers and network infrastructure for the least downtime and impact on the District’s mission.

Employee past experience - Lead for upgrading District local area network to 100 Mbit switched Ethernet to all desktops and multiple 1 Gbit Ethernet trunks to all closets. All major servers Ethernet upgraded to multiple Gbit.

Upgraded all existing District field office to T1 frame relay, added ~ 30 additional smaller field sites to WAN via 64K frame relay.

Employee past experience - Implemented Voice over IP (VoIP) for the District field sites.

Employee past experience - Lead on Very Small Aperture Terminal satellite communications for District floating plant on the Mississippi River.

Employee past experience - Implemented Voice over IP (VoIP) for the District field sites.

Employee past experience - Provided network support for special projects at the ERDC HPC. Networks included Ethernet to 1 Gbit and ATM to OC12. Provided network connectivity to Cray T3E, SGI Origin 3000, Compaq SC40 and SC45 supercomputers.

Systems Management Support

APRO personnel are on call and capable of responding to a failed network, server, wireless network, workstation or any computer related problem.

Employee past experience - Implemented Microsoft System Management Server for ERDC HPC. Provided software distribution, license monitoring and patch management for ~ 100 desktop computers and 4 Windows 2000 servers.

Provide systems management for numerous business networks. Provide patch management and software distribution.

Integration Support

Many of our customers rely on APRO to perform systems upgrades, implement new technology and just make things work so their business will get the most out of their investment.

Employee past experience - Primary architect of ERDC HPC Microsoft Windows Active Directory 2003.

Employee past experience - Site lead for network design, installation and maintenance at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) District and Mississippi Valley Division 1990-2001. Transition from no network in 1990 through Novell 3.11, Novell 4.1, Windows NT to Windows 2000 for approximately 1500 users at 30 sites.

Technical Support

We have a complete shop and an additional 7,000 square of space for equipment staging and testing. Our customers can call in anytime for instant tech support.

Employee past experience - Team lead for network support section of the District and Mississippi Valley Division helpdesk. Provided telephone and onsite support for all users of the District and Division who had network connectivity issues.

Employee past experience - Responsible for tape backup of all Novell and Windows file servers at the District headquarters and Mississippi Valley Division headquarters. Researched and specified hardware and software and implemented systems. Managed offsite storage of tapes. By 2001, tape storage capacity was ~ 4 TBytes.

Disaster Recovery

APRO Currently provides on-line backup services for Health Care, Law Offices, Financial, Construction and other types of businesses.

Employee past experience - Responsible for tape backup of all Novell and Windows file servers at the District headquarters and Mississippi Valley Division headquarters. Researched and specified hardware and software and implemented systems. Managed offsite storage of tapes. By 2001, tape storage capacity was ~ 4 TBytes.

APRO - Implemented and operate online backup service for numerous business customers.

Anti-Virus Management Service

We manage anti-virus solutions for all of our clients.

Employee past experience - Implemented and managed corporate anti-virus services for the District and Mississippi Valley Division. Installed anti-virus servers and deployed clients to ~ 1500 workstations. Monitored system, responded to infected computers quickly to limit spread of virus infections. Provided user training to limit infections.
